Research on Mindfulness, Meditation, and Coaching Efficacy
“Meditation and mindfulness-based training programs have been shown to impact immune system functioning and may help treat chronic health conditions” (Rosenkranz et al., 2013; Davidson et al., 2003).
“Participating in an eight-week mindfulness meditation program appears to make measurable changes in brain regions associated with memory, sense of self, empathy, and stress… Participant-reported reductions in stress also were correlated with decreased gray-matter density in the amygdala, which is known to play an important role in anxiety and stress… “this experiential change corresponds with structural changes in the amygdala, a finding that opens doors to many possibilities for further research on MBSR’s potential to protect against stress-related disorders, such as post-traumatic stress disorder. (Amishi Jha)””, Eight Weeks to a Better Brain, (Sue McGreevy, The Harvard Gazette)
“… brief meditation training reduced fatigue, anxiety, and increased mindfulness. Moreover, brief mindfulness training significantly improved visuo-spatial processing, working memory, and executive functioning..”, Mindfulness meditation improves cognition: evidence of brief mental training, (Zeidan et al., 2010)
"The results…(n = 1,470) indicated that meditation practice was significantly predictive of work engagement (β = 0.112, p < .001), subjective job performance (β = 0.116, p < .001), and job satisfaction (β = 0.079, p = .002), even after adjusting for covariates (β = 0.083, p < .001; β = 0.104, p < .001; β = 0.060, p = .015, respectively). The results indicate that meditation practice may positively influence job performance, including job satisfaction, subjective job performance, and work engagement. “The Association between Meditation Practice and Job Performance: A Cross-Sectional Study” (Shiba et al., 2015)

For Veterans
Compassionate Warrior Foundation: Following personal battles with pain, anxiety, PTS, and sleeplessness, my dear friend Rob Davis, a 24 year Veteran Navy EOD, embarked on a journey to discover the meaning of true wellness and purpose for a Veteran post-service. While traveling throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia in search of options for lasting change and healing, Rob spent two years living in Mount Wudang, China, accrued 7,500 hours studying Qi Gong, Taiji Meditation, and become a 16th Generation Xuan Wu Pai. Through this extraordinary journey, Rob was able to experience post-traumatic growth, calming his mind and healing his body. But his true purpose was just beginning. Rob knew the pain countless Veterans were still battling at home and how this unique, multi-layered approach towards lasting change could work for them as it did for him. Thus, in 2017, the core program for the Compassionate Warrior Foundation was born.
